As the Queensland Suns continues implementing its Strategic Plan and preparing for the 2027 campaign, the Association is pleased to announce the recruitment of its next High Performance Director.

Following the conclusion of the 2026 season, the Board has undertaken a comprehensive review of our program structure to ensure it aligns with the future direction of the Association and the priorities identified through our Strategic Plan.

The result is a refreshed position that reflects the Queensland Suns' commitment to raising standards, strengthening pathways and creating one of Australia's leading men's and mixed netball programs.

Building on our vision

Over recent months, the Board has been focused on translating the Queensland Suns Strategic Plan into meaningful action.

A consistent theme throughout our planning has been the importance of strong high-performance leadership to unite our six representative programs, develop athletes and coaches, and ensure every Queensland Suns representative experiences a consistent, high-quality environment.

The High Performance Director will play a central role in delivering that vision.

A role with statewide impact

The High Performance Director will oversee the Queensland Suns' performance pathway across all six state representative teams, providing strategic leadership in athlete development, coaching, culture and program standards.

Working alongside coaches, managers, support staff and the Board, the successful applicant will help establish consistent performance frameworks, mentor coaches, strengthen athlete pathways and identify opportunities to further elevate the Queensland Suns program.

The role will also play an important part in developing partnerships and representative opportunities that continue to grow men's and mixed netball across Queensland.

Delivering the Strategic Plan

The High Performance Director will be instrumental in delivering several key initiatives outlined within the Queensland Suns Strategic Plan.

These include establishing a whole-of-program High Performance Strategy, strengthening athlete development pathways, creating consistent coaching and selection philosophies, supporting coach development, and ensuring alignment across every representative team.

The successful candidate will also contribute to building the culture, accountability and performance standards that will underpin the Queensland Suns program into the future.

Who we're looking for

We're seeking an exceptional leader with experience in elite sport, coaching, talent development or high-performance systems.

While experience within netball is highly regarded, we recognise that outstanding high-performance leaders come from many sporting backgrounds. Above all, we're looking for someone who can build people, create high-performing environments and help shape the future of men's and mixed netball in Queensland.

Applications now open

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of the Queensland Suns and make a lasting impact on athlete development across Queensland.

The successful applicant will commence over the coming month, initially focusing on the coaching appointment process and establishing the frameworks, standards and culture that will guide the 2027 campaign and beyond.

If you're passionate about high performance and want to help build the future of men's and mixed netball, we'd love to hear from you.
